I want to share with ya’ll some of the details about my wedding. I’ve been dying to blog about this topic because who doesn’t love to reminisce about their special day? Hopefully this blog will give those of you planning a wedding some new ideas. This post is all about our wedding decor, food, and the little details.
Our colors were navy blue and bright yellow. I’d say our style was simple elegance. For the reception, we used white table clothes with curled navy blue ribbon scattered on top. We used mirrors with large vases on top. We filled the vases with lemons for a splash of yellow. We had candles on the tables. We also decorated with navy blue tulle and Christmas lights.
Our Wedding Decor
Check out some of these small details we included. We made small cards that asked our guests questions such as, “What should we name our kids?” or “How should we celebrate our one year anniversary?” or “Where’s the most romantic place we should visit?”
We set the cards on the tables and guests could use their wedding favors (ink pens with our names and wedding date on them) to answer the questions for us.
We also bought a personalized box for guests to put their cards in.
We had this special sign up as guests entered the church for the ceremony. I got the idea off Pinterest, but we designed it to match our wedding colors and style.
For food, we had a dessert reception instead of a full meal. I’ve always wanted a dessert reception, plus it’s cheaper and easier. And I love desserts!
We had a table with all of Travis’ favorite desserts and a table with all of my favorites. His favorites included sugar creme pie, blackberry cobbler, sugar cookies, and vanilla cupcakes. My favorites were chocolate creme pie, apple crisp, strawberry pie, chocolate chip cookies, and oreo cupcakes. In the middle, we had a table full of fruit — strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, grapes, and who knows what all! We also had tea, water, and a lemonade fountain. Plus, the cake!
Our Wedding Food
We went with a simple cake — three tiers with white fondant and navy blue ribbon wrapped around it. A friend made our wedding topper for us, and we plan to use it as a keepsake in our home.

I like the centerpiece with lemons; it looks awesome lit-up! The question cards are neat! The food table looks great.
