Christmas is coming! I’m so excited for it! One (out of like a zillion!) of the things that I like about Christmas is the gift giving. I love picking out presents for people, especially when it’s something I know they are really going to like. But there are a few people on my list that I just do not know what to get them. I know what this person likes, but I want them to really be excited and grateful for my gift so it’s hard to decide. Do you ever have that problem?
Some people are just hard to shop for. That’s why I teamed up with a few lovely ladies to create a frugal gift guide for the holidays. Everything on our lists are $20 or less, so none of these gifts are bank-breakers. And there are lots of ideas for every life stage.
I’m focusing on ideas for young children in this post. A lot of toys out there are expensive! I tried to come up with ideas for you that are out-of-the-box while still staying on budget.
Christmas Gift Ideas for Young Children
This set includes four Bible story coloring books plus an 84-pack of Crayola crayons. I loved coloring as a kid, and this set of coloring books gives you the opportunity to share Bible stories too! It’s only $15.99. Buy it here.
I thought this was such a neat idea when I first saw it. You can purchase a year’s subscription (meaning the child gets a new gift every single month) or anywhere from one month to six month’s worth of boxes. The box arrives in the mail with a new theme each month. It includes all the supplies needed to complete projects that explore the month’s theme. Each box has a book, a snack, a booklet with lessons on the theme, interesting facts and ways to continue exploring. The price varies on how many months you purchase, but right now they have a $10 discount when you submit your email — making one month’s box $20. They give examples of their boxes on the website, so I highly recommend you go check it out. Buy it here.
This game looks fun and easy for young children and adults to play together. The game includes tons of cards with different symbols — between any two cards there is always one and only one matching symbol. The goal is to spot the match first! It’s $11.29 for tons of fun. Buy it here.
Mouse Cookies & More Treasury Book
I have always loved the “If You Give” book series with “If You Give a Moose a Muffin” or “If You Give a Pig a Pancake,” among others. This treasury book includes four complete storybooks, nine recipes for you and your kids to make together, sheet music for eight different songs, nine fun family activities and even a CD with eight songs. So much fun wrapped into this single book! For a hardcover book, the price is $18.95 or cheaper for paperback. Buy it here.
National Geographic for Kids Magazine Subscription
This magazine is full of information and photos to help children learn about nature, culture and the world around them. A magazine is a gift that keeps on giving! You can get 10 issues for $15. Buy it here.
