Welcome to my newest series — Currently, where I share with you what I’m currently up to. This post is linked up to A Mama Collective where everyone is sharing what they are up to!
Here’s what I’ve been up to currently…
Thinking about: How glad I am to have my “in-law-family.” Travis’ family is so much like my own, and I’m so grateful that I am blessed with in-laws that I love and get along with. I’ve been thinking lately about how easily I could not be close to them just because we don’t get to see them much. But instead, I feel like I’ve been intentional about staying close to them. Even when Travis isn’t with me, I try to see them on my trips to Indiana. I’m getting ready to go spend a few days with them without my husband. All this quality time with them makes them change from “my in-laws” to just “my family.”
Reading: I’ve finished the second book in the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers. The book is called “An Echo in the Darkness,” and it’s amazing. I couldn’t put it down! Now, I’m beginning the third book in the series, “As Sure as the Dawn.” I’m going to be so sad when this series is over.
Watching: Every day during my “lunch hour,” I’ve been watching the Hallmark show “Signed Sealed Delivered” on On Demand. It’s made me excited for lunchtime. I love the idea of a Dead Letter Office, and I wish the USPS actually did try to find the right person to give those letters to. Instead, they actually shred them and sell any items in an auction – not as charming. :-/ But I love how this show has hints of scripture woven throughout the scenes. It’s difficult to find a TV show these days that doesn’t include cuss words or sex, so this show is like a breath of fresh air.
Wearing: My black and white apron. I spent a day last week baking chocolate chip cookies — a lot of them. And they were delicious, maybe best cookies I’ve ever had. I sent most of them with Travis to share with his platoon. After wearing my apron all day, I found out Flirty Aprons was having a huge sale. They have the cutest aprons! I’ve had one on my Wish List for a long time, and I was able to get it for $10 instead of $37! I can’t wait to get it in the mail! Now, I’m putting this one on my wish list!
Praying for: I’ve been praying for safety and good health for Travis while he’s in training next month. I’ve also been praying for safety and good health for everyone back home as he leaves. I had to give out the emergency numbers for getting in contact with him while he’s gone in case anything bad happens. It was like a “hey-you-really-are-an-Army-wife moment.”
Working on: Next week, I leave for Indiana. So I’ve been trying to get ahead on my weekly articles for a local newspaper. The more I can get finished, the less I’ll have to work or worry during my weeks with family.

How neat! I don’t write fiction, but instead work for local magazines and newspapers. But I do love reading fiction, especially Christian fiction! Good luck in your writing!
