As I told you before, I went to Indiana at the beginning of August to spend time with family while my husband is gone for training. I was determined to keep busy so I wouldn’t get lonely. The first part of my trip was all about my sister-in-law’s wedding, but I also got to spend a lot of time hanging out with Travis’ family.
Then, I headed south to my own family. And boy, did I keep busy!
First, we had my cousin-to-be’s bridal shower. I was so, so grateful I was able to attend! Everyone did a great job decorating and planning games and food. I loved the idea of having everyone highlight a verse from the Bible and write their names by it. What a neat keepsake!
Caitlyn got tons of great gifts! It made me want to have my own bridal shower all over again just so I could open awesome presents!
Here’s a picture of total babe-ness. These are the women in my family closest to my age and my heart.
My mom had taken off work for the whole week, so we spent tons of time together. We spent a whole day shopping together and both found some great finds!
I went for a very short horseback ride around my yard before bed one night! Thanks Morgan! Even though, it was short it was so fun!
My parents and I spent a day at the zoo in Indianapolis. I really liked the orangutans and the tiger.
I spent one day at my grandma’s painting with family. She’s basically starting her own Wine and Canvas events with all the painting she’s been doing!
I spent an evening with my aunt and uncle and brother — eating good food and enjoying even better conversation.
I got to see my college roommate and one of my best friends — Ricci — who has been traveling the world for the past 13 months or so as a missionary. It was awesome to see her photos and hear her stories. And just to see her again! She’s leaving again this week to head back to India where she will love on disabled children. What a life she lives!
Oh, and there was something very exciting that happened during my time at home — I’ll share that in my next post! Stay tuned!
