That Time My Brother Proposed

August 20, 2014 by Tiffany

Welcome to Seeing Sunshine! I'm so glad you've stopped by! Make sure you never miss a post by subscribing via email. This post may contain affiliate links, so be sure to view my disclosure policy.

My brother has the best timing! He waited until I was in Indiana to propose to his girlfriend so that I could be a part of it. Yay! Thanks brother! This is the story all about how my little brother proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Kendall. He had a lot of work put into this!

It all started when Kendall and I went to get our nails done. Of course, she had no idea why I had actually asked her to go with me. She just thought I wanted to hang out, and I did, but I also wanted her nails to look their best to show off that ring she would get later that day.

Later that day, Kendall was getting all dressed up for what she thought was a date to a fancy restaurant. When Logan came to pick her up, though, he handed her his car keys and a CD and told her he had a surprise for her.

When Kendall put the CD in the car, she heard Logan’s voice telling her she was going on a scavenger hunt. Her first clue was in the console of the car. Off she went to find her clues while listening to the rest of the CD, which included love songs that had meaning to their relationship.

Her first stop was at The Rock, an after-school Christian hang-out. She found the next clue, which led her to the high school where she and Logan attended.

The Rock Clue

That’s where I was! See, Logan had someone at each spot to take photos of Kendall finding her clues. I was at the high school where she found a clue in the parking lot where they had met each morning before school.

School Clue

That clue sent her to a local ice cream shop, where they both used to work. This is actually the place where Logan first asked Kendall on a date. When she stopped there, she had to ask for the Logan special. The server handed her a to-go box, which held the next clue.

Her final stop was back at her house where she grew up. Logan was waiting for her in the backyard with his guitar. At this point, I was video taping the whole thing!

He sang her a song — “You’re Beautiful” by James Blunt, but Logan had changed the lyrics to match his intentions.

After the song, he told her how much he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Then, to her surprise, he pulled out — not a ring! No, he gave her a watch! I think the poor girl’s emotions were all over the place at this point!

He asked her what time it was. Once she told him, he said, “I got you this so you would know the exact time I asked you to be my wife.” He got down on one knee and opened a box that held a beautiful ring. He asked Kendall to marry him, and, of course, she said yes!

Engagement Ring

I was there video taping, our cousin was there taking photos and both sets of parents were there to watch. Kendall didn’t realize her own parents were there until they came out of hiding — which sent her into even more tears!

Afterward, I gave her some wedding magazines so the planning and dreaming can begin … although, I’m sure it already had!

The Bride-to-Be and Me

He proposed! And now my little brother is engaged and going to get married! It was a fantastic proposal! I’m so glad I got to be a part of it. Congrats you two! I love you both!

Have you been proposed to? How did it go?
