I figured it’s time for a Currently post since I haven’t wrote one in about two months!
Here’s what I’m up to currently…
Thinking about: How much we have to do, all the things we need to do, what I want to pack up, what I want the Army to pack up, what Travis needs to take to Korea, and what he should take in his suitcase instead of having it shipped. I’m wondering what vaccines I’ll need to get to go visit and hoping that the answer is none. I’m thinking about how long the flight to South Korea is. I’m thinking a lot about how much I love our apartment, and even more how much I love getting to spend time with husband. And quite a bit about how much I’ll miss having a dishwasher. There’s a lot going on in this mind of mine lately.
But really, it feels a lot like the quiet before the storm. I know in a couple weeks we are going to be so busy trying to get everything done for the move, and then actually moving, and then saying goodbye. But right now, there’s not a ton we can do except just thinking about all the things. Because I’m the kind of person who likes to keep busy and likes to stay ahead of the game, not being able to do anything and yet knowing how much I’ll have to do soon is almost more stressful.
But during this quiet before the storm, I’m trying to focus on the most important thing — spending time with my husband. Savoring every moment.
Reading: I just finished A Little Salty to Cut the Sweet by Sophie Hudson and it was full of cute stories. I really want my mom to read it. Now, I’m starting Bittersweetby Shauna Niequist, which I think is really going to speak to me in the life stage I’m in right now.
Praying about: Mostly that everything goes smoothly in the next two months. A lot of asking God to strengthen our marriage even while we’re separated.
Listening to: I used to use Spotify to listen to music a lot, and I recently got back into the groove. I’ve got a great country music playlist on Spotify with all my favorite old and new country songs!
Watching: A whole lotta football. What I mean by that is Travis has been watching a lot of football and I’ve been sitting in the same room sort of watching football.
Eating: Have you guys seen Pizza Hut’s new menu? They have so many new options, and I’m just in love with it. Travis and I ordered pizza from them yesterday for lunch and I stuffed myself silly. We tried the toasted asiago crust, and it was delicious! Since Travis and I don’t like hardly any of the same pizza toppings, we like to do half-and-half so we each get half a pizza of exactly what we want. I got pepperoni, bacon, green peppers, and pineapple — and it was awesome.
This week I’m planning on making a roast, but I can’t decide whether to make French Dips, Pot Roast, or Italian Beef. Care to take a vote?
Working on: I’ve got two weeks of work left with the newspaper I freelance write for. So I’m finishing those stories and updating my resume. As far as the blog goes, I started the Elite Blog Academy at the beginning of the year. It’s like an online course to make your blog the best it can be. I’m only on the second unit, but I feel like I’m already getting a lot out of it.
