It has been four months since I’ve posted a Thankful Thursday post! That’s a long time, so I wanted to share with you five things I’m thankful for this week.
1. For Greg and my other furry friends. God has been surprising me with all sorts of love notes lately, and some of those love notes consist of his living creatures coming to visit. Now that I’ve settled into this old farm house, the animals in my yard have gotten used to me, which means I see them more and more. I now have a pet groundhog named Greg and two bunnies named Bonnie and Clyde. I love spotting them!
2. For walks and the ability to go on them. I am so thankful that I am capable of going outside and walking down the road. It may seem silly to some, but I know people who cannot do such a thing. I know I get the itch to get outside and move, so I can’t imagine how it feels to not be able to do so. I’m very thankful for walks down the road, especially when it means visiting with neighbors or spotting a deer (aka another love note from God).
3. Sunsets. The view at this house is just breath-taking. Especially in the evening as the sun sets. I’m so thankful that I get to see so many beautiful sunsets with all their oranges and pinks and golds. Think of the most talented artist in all the world — their artistic skills are only a glimpse of what God can do.
4. For the postal service. Thank you USPS workers! I just love getting mail, but I also love sending it. I was able to create a special care package for my husband as an anniversary gift. I loved making it and being able to send him something special even when he’s on the other side of the world.
5. My journal. I got a special journal to record everything from this year of Brave Adventure. The cover of the journal is so cute and says “Fearless” on it. I love being able to write out my thoughts and feelings and prayers, especially when I know no one is going to read them (at least not till I’m dead!).
What are you thankful for this week?
