So my last three posts have been a bit … heavy, I guess you could say. So I thought I might lighten it up a bit with this post. Living in Indiana definitely has its perks, but boy are there some things I miss about living in Georgia.
1. Living just down the road from a Kroger — getting groceries was a breeze, and if you forgot something it was easy to run back later.
2. Seeing armadillos on the side of the road. OK, yes they were dead. But armadillos don’t stink the way opossums do, and seeing armadillos was way neater to me than the roadkill here.
3. Knowing my husband was coming home right around 5:30. It was my second favorite part of the day.
4. Living so close to the beach. I would love to head over to Tybee Island and spend a day soaking up the sun and riding the waves.
5. Our apartment and all its newness. I want to walk into that clean, white bedroom again. I want to sit in my walk-in closet. I miss that dishwasher like nobody’s business.
6. Waking up to my husband walking in the bedroom after PT. Spending mornings with him before he left for work was my absolute most favorite part of the day — every day.
7. Living a couple minutes from Sonic. Half price milkshakes after 8 pm? Yes please.
8. Visiting Savannah on the weekends. I want to walk down River Street hand-in-hand and eat gelato while basking in the sunlight while the boats go by.
9. Trying new restaurants. There was always a new restaurant we hadn’t been to yet, and I loved marking them off our bucket list and rating them with smiley faces.
10. Shopping at Target. Seriously, Target — why are you not in Terre Haute??
11. Weekend adventures. Our location was perfect because we could easily take mini vacations to various islands, South Carolina, or Florida for the weekend. I miss exploring new places with my best friend.
12. The seafood & sweet tea. Oh, how I’d love to fill my belly with crab legs and fried grouper and blackened swordfish!
13. My best friend. I miss living with my husband. I miss talking to him whenever I wanted. I miss being in the same time zone. I miss seeing him and touching him and hearing about his day. I miss the way he made me laugh by dancing in front of the car wherever we were — even in front of people! Yes, my all-time favorite thing about living in Georgia was that I lived with Travis. And I sure do miss that.
