As you’ve read in my posts lately, I’ve been struggling. Life is just hard sometimes, friends. And when life gets hard, it’s OK to take a break.
It’s OK to not be OK. And when you aren’t OK, you are allowed to pause. In fact, you should pause. You should focus on taking care of yourself.
I know that taking a break from this blog is not going to help make it successful or help me grow readers. My traffic will decline. It is going to make reaching my goals much harder.
But in the full scheme of things, I know that has to be OK. It is more important right now for me to focus on my spiritual, emotional, and physical well being. I need time to take care of myself. Because of that, I’m pushing the pause button. I will not be writing here for awhile.
I do plan to post some guest posts from some other awesome bloggers. But you won’t be hearing from me for awhile. I hope you understand, and I hope when I get back you will still be here ready to read.
I don’t know how long this pause will last, but I know it is essential that I take a break. I need to find the sunshine again.
I appreciate your prayers during this time. I hope that I can be back soon. Until then, thanks for your understanding and I hope that you keep seeing sunshine.

Remember, we enjoy the sunshine, but we don’t often learn much there. We grow in the storms of life. They develop our character, our capacity for empathy when others are suffering or going thru hard times. Take all the time you need, the sun isn’t gone, just behind a cloud. As the gospel song says ‘It won’t rain always, God’s promises are true, and the sun’s gonna shine, in His own good time, and He will see you thru; sun’s gonna shine in God’s own good time and He will see you thru.’ God bless you and heal you.

Thank you Jan. I definitely agree we learn and grow most in the storms of life.

Well you can be happy to hear that you have a new reader! Me! I just found your blog and I am really enjoying it! I am getting married in July to my fiance who is in the reserves now but considering officer training school and active duty. We’ve been together almost six years. I am inspired by your blogs about marriage. I feel that so many people today just give up when the “in love” feelings aren’t always there. However, this is the time to dig deep and instead see love as a decision and an action. I am going into this marriage reading lots of books about communication and how to have a lasting relationship. So many people give more thought to the flowers and cake and less to how to create real communication and the tools that will make a lasting marriage. So, I want you to know I’m already inspired by your blog and while you are taking your break, I’ll be reading! Sending prayers your way!! <3

Laura, thank you so much for your sweet words. I’m so proud of you for focusing on creating a strong marriage even before you have even said “I do.” I’m so happy to have a new reader!
