It’s been quite some time since I’ve wrote a Thankful Thursday post. We are right in the midst of our PCS to Missouri — loading trucks and packing our car, saying goodbyes — it’s been stressful and tough and crazy at times.
Because of that, I decided it would be good to write a post about what I’m thankful for. You know, put things in perspective. Here are five things I’m thankful for this week.
1. For the benefits of the military. Sometimes (a lot of the time) I despise the military and how much control it has on my life, but other times I’m very thankful for the benefits we receive. One of those benefits is how the Army will move you from one place to another. Even though there is still work to be done, I didn’t have to box up every single item in my house. We didn’t have to load all our furniture into a Uhaul. I’m especially thankful for this because Travis didn’t get home until the day before we were supposed to leave. That leaves a lot of the to-dos up to me!
2. To be living under the same roof as my husband. For good. No more goodbyes. THANK YOU JESUS. I’m not sure which is harder not seeing each other for a very long period of time, or seeing each other for short amounts of time but having to say goodbye over and over again. I feel like I experienced both this year, and I didn’t like either.
3. For my family. I’m so glad this past year I was able to live near family. I seriously don’t know how I could have got through everything without them. My dad was amazing in working on the house. My uncle and grandpa were huge helps with other things in the house. People would come over to kill spiders or just to keep me company. They will never know the blessing they were to me. This also includes my other family — my in-laws. They have been a huge blessing to me too this year. I love them all SO much!
4. For heated seats. I don’t know where you live, but here it is COLD. It’s been in the teens most days here in Indiana, and when I get cold I stay cold. It’s really hard for me to warm back up. So I love that my car has heated seats. With a push of a button, I can feel warmth!
5. For change. OK, this is so not like me. I despise change. It is very difficult for me. I have a hard time accepting it usually. Ask my husband who has seen my tears when plans change. But at this moment, I am thankful for change. There are so many big changes coming for Travis and I but I’m really looking forward to them and seeing what God has in store for us in Missouri.
What are you thankful for this week?

I am thankful for getting to hug both of you before you move. I am thankful for new opportunities.
