It's time for an episode of "The Guy Behind the Blog" with my husband Travis. Here's Travis' answers to this month's five questions. 1. Who do you want to win the NCAA tournament? Do you have a favorite college basketball team? Well, my favorite college basketball team is Purdue; however, they had a complete meltdown the last few minutes of their opening round game and ended up losing in double overtime. So now I think I am going to root for all underdog teams, except I want Kansas to win because that's who I have winning in my class bracket! 2. Do you follow March Madness? How is your Continue Reading

Ways to Cope After Miscarriage
How can we cope after such a tragic loss? Losing a child is an indescribable loss that brings a heavy grief with it. So how can we cope? My unborn baby would be 19 weeks right now. In just a few short weeks, I would be finding out the gender. (We think of our baby as a boy because of a dream I had while pregnant.) Travis and I already had a theme and plan for a gender reveal party. There's not a day that has gone by where I haven't thought about our baby. I still miss him. In these past two months, although I have still felt pain and grief, I can feel myself learning to cope. I can feel Continue Reading
4 Best Restaurants Near Fort Stewart
Travis and I were stationed at Fort Stewart for two years. We are the type of people who can't just sit at home every weekend. We love to get out to explore the area. Being in the military means you know you won't be living in an area permanently. Knowing that, we try to make the most of each place where we are stationed. We loved visiting the surrounding areas of Fort Stewart -- islands, beaches, Savannah, and even going to Florida and South Carolina were all things we enjoyed during those two years in Georgia. Travis and I also consider ourselves foodies. We love eating. And we love trying Continue Reading
Questions for Couples: The Best Gift for Couples
My brother and his fiancé are getting married in just a couple months, and my youngest cousin just recently got engaged. Wedding bells are ringing in our family! I recently went home to visit my family, and I couldn't wait to see my youngest cousin to hear all the details of her proposal, see her ring in person, and give her a little gift. As soon as I found out Morgan was engaged, I bought her a greeting card and bridal magazine. Who doesn't love to look at all those wedding dresses? There was something else, though, that I really wanted to give her. A Book Full of Questions for Continue Reading

Missouri Home Tour
We moved to Missouri at the end of January, and we found a home to rent here that we love. It has two bathrooms, three bedrooms, vaulted ceilings, a garage, and a small deck in the backyard. It's exactly the type of home I was hoping to live in while we are here. Now, almost two months later, we finally have each room in the house unpacked, organized, and decorated. I love how everything turned out. Since not everyone can come visit us, especially considering we will only be living here for another few months before moving again, I wanted to take you all on a home tour through photos. I Continue Reading
Boracay Video: Philippines Vacation
Over Thanksgiving last year, Travis and I traveled to the Philippines, visiting the island of Boracay. We only spent a few days there, but it was wonderful! We had such a fun and relaxing time. I wrote all about our trip in my post 3 Things to Do in Boracay, Philippines. Thanks to our GoPro, we had so many videos and photos we wanted to share. Now, that we are finally living together again and settled into our home in Missouri, we put all our footage from the GoPro onto my computer. It was really fun looking back over all the footage and remembering such a fun trip. I am planning to Continue Reading
Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup
Spring isn't here quite yet. With chilly temperatures, you need a warm and creamy soup to fill your belly. We loved this creamy chicken noodle soup, and I think you'll love it too. Here's what you'll need: chicken breast tenderloins egg noodles olive oil celery carrots yellow onion parsley garlic chicken broth bay leaves butter flour milk heavy cream I suggest doing a few things before you even start this dish. Make sure your chicken is thawed or you use fresh. Make the noodles in boiling water and set those aside. It's also a good idea to go ahead and chop up all your Continue Reading
Bible Art Journaling with the Beautiful Word Bible
This is a sponsored post; however, all of these opinions are my own. You all have seen the adult coloring books taking the country by storm! Coloring isn't the only thing becoming more popular. Bible art journaling seems to be all the rage with Christians lately. When I first saw it, I thought it was beautiful and immediately wanted a journaling Bible. Now, the creative way to interact with scripture is becoming more and more popular, and there are so many great tools for helping you do your own art journaling. Research shows that coloring and creating stimulates the brain, senses, Continue Reading
Currently {Vol. 16}
It's time for a currently post where I catch you up on what I'm up to currently. Pretty self-explanatory! Thinking about: How happy I am that we live close enough for family to visit. I am so very close to my family, and I love that we are only around 5-6 hours away from them. That means we can go visit on weekends if we want, and others can come see us. I love showing my relatives where we live. My parents have visited, my aunt and uncle visited, and just this past weekend my brother and his fiancé came to see us. It's been great! I'm also thinking about how great my husband is Continue Reading
Cilantro Lime Rice
Cilantro lime rice seems to be a staple with Travis' side of the family. And I am not complaining. Travis and his family are competitive, and he loves to compete with his sisters at basically everything. His sister Mindy is a great cook, so of course Travis challenges that. They have had a couple different cooking competitions over the years. In fact, the first time I ever met his family was at one of their cooking competitions. This past Christmas, Travis and I challenged Mindy to a cook-off. We wanted to make cilantro lime rice because we discovered a great recipe for it while I was in Continue Reading
