It’s time for a currently post where I catch you up on what I’m up to currently. Pretty self-explanatory!
Thinking about: How happy I am that we live close enough for family to visit. I am so very close to my family, and I love that we are only around 5-6 hours away from them. That means we can go visit on weekends if we want, and others can come see us. I love showing my relatives where we live. My parents have visited, my aunt and uncle visited, and just this past weekend my brother and his fiancé came to see us. It’s been great!
I’m also thinking about how great my husband is because today is his birthday! I’ve loved giving him gifts all week to celebrate!
Reading: Right now I’m reading the book Girl Meets Change, and I really like it so far. I just haven’t had as much time for reading as I would like. I’m also currently reading the book of Job from the Bible, and together Travis and I are working our way through Romans.
Praying about: I’ve been asking God to show me who He is. Ever since my miscarriage, I’ve honestly been struggling with God (which is why I’m reading Job right now). I just have a lot of questions for Him. So I’ve been asking Him to help me in that area. I know there are things of this world that we are just never going to understand, but accepting that doesn’t make those things any easier.
Listening to: I have a healing playlist that I listen to quite frequently. My favorite songs right now are Held by Natalie Grant, Need You Now by Plumb, I Will Carry You by Selah, and Who You Are by JJ Heller.
Watching: Fuller House!! I love that they brought my favorite childhood show, Full House, back! I love seeing everyone all grown up. The inside jokes are the best!
Eating/Drinking: Mexican chili — sooo good! And this past weekend I made the perfect pot roast for our visitors!
Working on: Bringing in some extra cash! I’m loving working as VA (virtual assistant). While many of my fellow spouses are out looking for jobs after PCSing (moving) here, I already had one! It’s the perfect job for someone who moves so much, and I love the feeling I get when I get that paycheck. Although financially I don’t need to work, it feels so good to financially contribute.
Learning: Just in the last couple weeks I’ve realized what a big difference there is between duty stations — it all depends on who is there with you. I had the hardest time making friends in Georgia for several reasons, but here there are so many social opportunities. I’ve already made more friends here in the past month than I had my whole two years at Fort Stewart! I think it helps that many of us got here in the same month and that I am more accustomed to military life now.
