We moved to Missouri at the end of January, and we found a home to rent here that we love. It has two bathrooms, three bedrooms, vaulted ceilings, a garage, and a small deck in the backyard. It’s exactly the type of home I was hoping to live in while we are here.
Now, almost two months later, we finally have each room in the house unpacked, organized, and decorated. I love how everything turned out.
Since not everyone can come visit us, especially considering we will only be living here for another few months before moving again, I wanted to take you all on a home tour through photos.
I wish I was a better photographer, so not all these pictures are very good. But at least you can get the idea, and I can show you my favorite rooms!
When you walk in the front door, you enter into the living room. We love having a coat closet off the entrance, high ceilings, wood floors, and a fireplace. I especially love the mantle!
I have two favorite parts to this room — the mantle is one of them.
The collage wall is my other favorite part. Of course, I couldn’t get a good photo due to weird lighting. But if you saw it in person you would like it!
Next, you can visit the dining room where you can see into our backyard and our deck. This room is simple, but I like it that way.
Connected to the dining room is the kitchen. And yes, I love this room too!
I did clean the house up before I took these photos, but I didn’t do any staging like a lot of bloggers do. In this next picture you can see our house exactly like you would if you came over. There’s a pile of mail and a whole lot of aprons between our laundry room and the door to the garage.
When you walk down the hall, the first room is my office. I’ve never had a home office before even though I’ve been working from home for close to three years now. I really wanted a room or at least a desk to call my space for all my virtual assistant and blogging work.
My office is my favorite room in the whole house. It is decorated with a beach theme. It’s clean and calming and exactly what I wanted! I’ve got lots of pictures of this room so you can see all the details I love so much!
Did you love the office? 🙂 The next room is the guest bedroom. I would really like to get a new bedspread for this room sometime in the next year — something softer and simpler.
Here are both our bathrooms. First, the guest bathroom located in the hallway. Second, our master bathroom, which is connected to our bedroom.
The last room on our home tour is our master bedroom. I really like how this room turned out. We have some beautiful wall art, and almost every piece has significant meaning to us.
That’s our house! At least for the next few months. We don’t know yet where we’ll be heading next for sure, so but we do know we are heading someplace new this summer. Stay tuned for that announcement!
Which room was your favorite? Do we have similar or very different decorating styles?

What a beautiful home! I love that your made it “yours” so quickly and fully. I’m sure that will do a lot to make you feel comfortable, even if you are only there short-term. Feeling that it is truly your house does a lot for a woman!

You are so right Kathryn! I would never feel “settled” here if my house wasn’t made into our home. And feeling settled is important for even a short-term living situation.

I love your home, it is so you and so beautiful. I would love to see it in person.

Good for you for making it as home-y as possible considering it’s just for a short time!! We lived in Arizona for only five months when we were there for career course, but we still loved that home so much and tried our best to make it “ours”. You’ll make lots of memories there even if it’s only for a short time! Excited to see where you head next!
