I love how much people enjoy this series. Many people have told me they really enjoying reading Travis' answers and getting to know him better. I have to say I love seeing his responses too. My aunt said she loves to read it and then ask her own husband the questions. What a great idea! She said they like to do it on road trips. So next time you're in the car, open up this page and get asking! Here are Travis' answers this month. 1. What is your all time favorite food and drink? I love a lot of food! I like to consider myself a "foodie" but I would say that my favorite food is my Continue Reading

The Day I Stopped Showering
This is a story I wrote a few years ago after this happened to me while showering. I wanted to repost it in case you need a laugh today! It was a normal day. I had decided to sleep in and very much enjoyed the luxury of it. I woke up and read my Bible, journaled, and ate a breakfast of cereal. I picked out my clothes for the day and headed to the bathroom to shower. I did the normal routine — I turned on the exhaust fan in the shower, let my hair down, placed my towels in the right spot and turned on the water. I decided not to listen to music because I had some thinking to do. I undressed Continue Reading
Construction Zone
It was 2011 and I was driving back to my college apartment for the last time as a student. My best friends were in the car with me as we listened to "Who Knows Who Cares" by Local Natives. I began to merge onto the 465 exit when the song sang, "Is my life about to change?" The words hit me as I turned the steering wheel just slightly to make the car follow the curve of the road. The road was completely different than what it used to be. Dirt and machinery were everywhere. They were building a new and better highway. I looked around at the changes taking place on the road and realized my Continue Reading
A Letter to My Angel Baby
In January of this year, I began to miscarry our first child -- our angel baby. Tomorrow is what would have been my due date. I can't help but think of what this month would have been like. Preparing the nursery and making sure everything is just right. Packing a hospital bag. The fear and happiness of knowing baby is coming. Going to the hospital. Getting to hold our first child. Seeing the look on my husband's face as he realizes he is a dad. Watching family members hold our precious little one. So many would-have-beens. This is my letter to our baby in Heaven, our child who we lovingly Continue Reading
Currently {Vol. 17}
Since I took an unofficial break from blogging, or in other words got way too busy and didn't have time to write, I figured my first post as I try to get back into the swing of things should just be an update. That means it's time for a currently post where you can see what I've been up to. Thinking about: How behind I am! Ahh! It feels like there is so much to do -- write blog posts, schedule social media posts, work for my clients, unpack my house, organize, clean, meal plan, make a dentist appointment... The list goes on and on. This move has really thrown me off! I've also been Continue Reading
Controlling Our Fear
This post about fear is sponsored by Illustrated Faith. All opinions are my own. FEAR. It sneaks up on me sometimes. I'm all, "Yeah, I'm trusting God ... la la la..." and then bam, fear strikes! I find myself scared or nervous or worried. (Or all three!) Perhaps, in those moments, I don't really trust God as that much as I thought I did. Fear is a totally real thing, and it can strike at basically anytime. Whether you saw something on the news, or got a phone call with bad news, or perhaps you just started daydreaming about all that could go wrong. Fear and worry go hand-in-hand, and we all Continue Reading
