Best Deep Cleaning Products

March 11, 2015 by Tiffany

Welcome to Seeing Sunshine! I'm so glad you've stopped by! Make sure you never miss a post by subscribing via email. This post may contain affiliate links, so be sure to view my disclosure policy.

Along with all the projects I’ve been working on for the new house, I’ve also had to do a lot of cleaning. The house we bought has been sitting empty for seven years — so it really needed some deep cleaning when we got there.

I needed to clean all the windows, the registers, the floors, the closets, the stair railings, the bathroom fixtures, and the list goes on.

One of the things I spent a long time cleaning was the refrigerator. I was thankful the house came with a fridge, but when I saw how dirty and gross it was I was kind of hoping it wouldn’t work and we could just buy a new one. I was not looking forward to cleaning that thing! But it runs just fine, so clean it I did.

Fridge Cleaning

The top of the fridge and the handles were the worst, and it took a lot of scrubbing before I saw any difference. It still doesn’t look new, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I do think I made a big dent in all that dirt.

One thing I love about cleaning is being able to see a difference. I especially love when I can see a difference as I’m scrubbing or wiping away the dirt.

Cleaning

With all this cleaning going on, I thought I would share with you what products I’ve been using. Some of these you probably already have in your own home, but some of them were new to me and now I love them!

Check out my list of the six best deep cleaning products. (This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for supporting my blog.)

The Best Deep Cleaning Products

Formula 409 All Purpose Cleaner — All purpose is exactly what this is! Use it on everything to deep clean. It cuts grease and kills bacteria.

Scrubbing Brush with a Handle — When you’re deep cleaning, you’re going to have to scrub and sometimes scrub hard. Having a brush that has a handle makes it so much easier to clean those hard areas.

Windex — Everybody knows about this one — great for windows and mirrors!

DampRid Mildew Stain Remover — We’ve used this a lot, and I can’t believe how well it gets rid of mildew. This spray eliminates mold and mildew stains, removes soap scum and mineral deposits, and keeps working for three months to protect surfaces. It can be used indoors or outdoors on basically any surface.

Comet — Cleans and deodorizes sinks, bathtubs, and toilets. Leaves them shiny and looking brand new!

Easy-Off Oven Cleaner — We couldn’t believe how well this stuff worked! Our oven was disgusting, and it looked great when we were finished! It cleans ovens warm or cold, cutting grease and grim. It works on grills too.

BONUS: One of my readers, Merrie, reminded me of another great product I love to use: Mr. Clean Magic Erasers — these things really are magic! I love to use them to get marks off walls, but they work great for everything. Merrie even said she uses them to clean her shoes!

This inspires me. Makes me want to clean some of my kitchen appliances that I’ve let get too dirty – like the inside of my fridge!! My favorite product you mention is the 409 All-Purpose Cleaner or the 409 Kitchen Cleaner. I use them and love them. I don’t like the smell of bleach and so I like that this doesn’t have a strong odor.
Looks like you did a great job on your kitchen appliances. Wow – what a difference! Those pictures really show how much scrubbing you did. 🙂

Thank you! It’s so easy to forget about some of our appliances and let that dust and grim build up. What a difference a little time cleaning can make!

One of the best cleaning tools ever is Mr. Clean magic eraser. It works great on everything. I even use them to clean my shoes! I also use Bar Keepers Friend. It is not as abrasive as Comet. I enjoyed your blog!

Exactly!!! My job is so emotional and qualitative that sometimes I just need to scrub something and see visible change! I like to mix lemon peels and vinegar ! 🙂
