I don’t like bugs. Who does? Unless you are an 8-year-old boy or a biology teacher, I doubt you like bugs either. Especially bugs in your home!
One of my biggest concerns with living alone was who was going to kill all the bugs! Living out in the country, I know that bugs are inevitable. But I wanted to keep them out as much as possible. I was afraid that they would crawl up through the registers of my house, so I came up with a solution.
I bought a role of screen door mesh. I cut it into squares a few inches larger than my register vents.
Then I lifted my register, using a vacuum cleaner to clean out anything inside the vent.
I set the mesh liner over the vent and put the register on top. Then I just used a utility knife to cut off the excess around the edges.
You can’t even see the mesh, but it’s small enough that no bugs will be crawling in or out of there! And the air can still flow through just fine! Problem solved! That’s how to keep bugs out of your registers!
I also used Ortho Home Defense Max Insect Killer Spray to spray along the walls of my home in each room. I’ve used this spray before, and it works wonders! Bugs drop dead on the spot! It works inside or outside and keeps bugs away for months. I plan to spray it every 3-6 months around all my baseboards, doors, and windows.

That is a great way to get rid of bugs. The mesh is nicely hidden as well. Seems easy to do it too. Thanks for sharing!
