I recently went to visit family in Knoxville, Tennessee. I’ve been there several times visiting. Even though I wish that family lived closer, I do love the Knoxville area. Whenever we go to visit, there’s always so many things we want to do — things we can’t do back at home.
Today, I’m sharing my favorite things to do when visiting Knoxville, as well as some other things you may want to check out if you visit.
Get smoothies from the Juice Bar.
This place is my all-time favorite. If there was one next to my house, I would have a smoothie every single day. I love that they are healthy, yet so delicious. Try the Cocoa Banana — it’s full of spinach, yet it tastes like a peanut butter-chocolate-banana milkshake!
Visit the Farmer’s Market.
The Farmer’s Market is so big! There’s so much to see and so much to try and so much to buy. Try the ice cream from the Cruze Dairy Farm food truck.
Play in the fountains at World’s Fair Park.
This was so much fun when we went — for both adults and kids! Wear your swimsuits and go have fun! The fountains are huge, so in the Tennessee summer heat this is a great, free (!!) attraction.
Eat chicken and waffles at Not Watson’s.
Chicken and waffles never sounded good to me, until I saw it at Not Watson’s. It looked and smelled amazing, and then I tried it — it tasted amazing too! Plus, I love the name of this restaurant.
Buy some pies at Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop.
After those chicken and waffles, you have to get some mini pies from the Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop. They have all sorts of flavors, and they are all homemade. It’s just so yummy!
Get some fun exercise at Jump Jam.
We got a babysitter for the kids one night and all the adults went to Jump Jam for some fun exercise. We jumped our bums off on the trampoline floors, explored the obstacle courses, and more. It was so fun! It would be great for kids too, but it was nice going when we could all just enjoy it ourselves rather than watching the children play.
Eat pizza at Mellow Mushroom.
I know other places have this pizza place, but it’s not in our area. The pizza is so good and we seriously have gotten it every single time I’ve ever been to Knoxville. It’s tradition.
Have you noticed I really like food? 🙂
