Guys, I’m sorry.
I usually post 3 times a week, and last week I only posted once. Sorry folks. I may have let you down.
However, as much as I love this place I can call my own on the interwebs, as much as I love seeing my readers grow, there are more important things. One of those things is my husband. My marriage.
As you know, he’s been living in South Korea this year. We hadn’t seen each other in around 6 months, and to be honest with you I was so over it. I felt done.
So it was very much needed when he finally came home. In October, Travis came home to visit for about three weeks. I was so busy spending as much time with him as possible that I never got around to writing on here. Hence, only one post last week.
This post is for all my avid readers, friends, and family who want to know how our three weeks together went. Prepare yourself for a lot of photos of the cutest couple you’ll ever see.
We explored our property one day — packed a backpack of water and snacks and hiked through our woods and pasture. We actually hadn’t gotten to really explore the land we bought yet, so it was fun to see the views and spot some gorgeous trees. Then we took a four-wheeler ride around the area to some of my favorite spots.
We spent one day at Pumpkin Works, taking a hayride out to the pumpkin patch and picking out our very own pumpkins to take home. We tried a corn maze but failed. However, we tried a pumpkin slingshot and conquered! We loved the pumpkin ice cream for sure!
One day, Travis asked me out on a date. He said he wanted to recreate our first date. He even left the house while I got ready and then showed up at my door right on time with a beautiful bouquet of flowers in hand. He took me to Red Lobster and the conversation flowed just as smoothly as it did on our first date.
I took him on a date too — to the Cheesecake Factory. He had never been before, and even though neither of us likes cheesecake I knew we would love sharing the strawberry shortcake for dessert!
We also spent lots of time with family. We had dinner with my parents a couple times, lunch with my brother and his fiance after church, played in a canasta tournament with all my cousins (where I won the grand prize!), and spent lots of time with Travis’ family. I’m so so so glad that lots of his out-of-state family members were able to make the trek to Indiana to see him. I know it meant a lot to him, and I was super happy to see them again too!
We both loved spending time with our nieces and nephews. Travis couldn’t get over how much older they all were.
We also attended our first murder mystery dinner party! It was so fun getting dressed up (it was a masquerade party). It ended up that my character was the one who got murdered!
I made lots of yummy food and we ate out at all of his favorite spots that he’d been missing. We went for walks, worked on house projects, read together, watched TV together, went to the movies — basically all the normal stuff married people do. It was so great to be together again.
In fact, we liked it so much we decided we didn’t want it to end. A few days before Travis was to fly back to South Korea, we decided it would be best for our marriage if I came with him. We were able to find seats on both of his flights, and we were even able to change seats so that on the long flight (12 and a half hours) we were able to sit together.
So guess what — I’m writing this from South Korea! Hopefully, even while we’re together I’ll still be able to find time to write and post here.
Thanks for all your prayers friends.

So here is my question…did you kiss on your second first date? And did Travis drop you off and then, show back up minutes later? LOL. I love your shirts you wore to the pumpkin patch. The strawberry shortcake is awesome at the factory. Sounds like quite the adventure around your digs. Best of all glad to see your face and your words smiling again!

Haha! Funny questions! I think the first time I had strawberry shortcake at the factory was with you!

Loved seeing you both! Glad to hear that you get to be together longer! It had to be so hard for both of you being apart!
Tiffany says
It WAS hard. But we are so glad we are back together!

How wonderful! There’s nothing like reunions after long separations. So how long will you be saying? Is he over there on an “unaccompanied” duty station? The South Korea situation has changed so much lately. Enjoy your time together!

I will be staying for about three weeks, coming home for all the Christmas get-togethers. We are hoping he will be able to come home for Christmas too!
