There is a ton of shopping in Springfield, but there is also lots of other fun things to do there. Today, I'm sharing some of the fun things available to do in Springfield, Missouri. Things to Do in Springfield Wild Animal Safari We went to the Wild Animal Safari with some friends and had so much fun. We took the bus tour so that we could feed the animals. Guy Behind the Blog Episode 8
The end of a month means my hubby gets to hop over to the blog and answer some questions! I love reading his responses, how about you guys? It's time to learn more about the guy behind this blog -- Travis. Here are this month's questions and answers: 1. In what ways are you the same as your childhood self? Well, one of the ways I am the same as my childhood self, is that I HATE to make my bed and clean my bedroom. Haha! Whenever Tiffany asks me to make my bed I always do it, but that doesn't mean I like to! Also, at any time if you walk into our bedroom the chances are that you Continue Reading
Having a D&C Miscarriage
Most of you have read my miscarriage story. One of things I kept thinking through the process was, "I wish there was some kind of guide I could read so I would know what to expect." But there isn't anything like that because every woman's body and circumstance is different. Sometimes, doctors will recommend you have a surgical procedure called a D&C (dilation and curettage). Others, like my doctor, won't give you a specific recommendation. You will get the choice of whether to have a D&C or miscarry naturally. For those of you in that situation, I imagine you are wishing you could Continue Reading
7 WordPress Plugins You Should Use
How many of you are bloggers or are beginning your own blog? I've shared the six steps you should take before even buying a domain, and I've also shared the next steps you should take when starting a blog. One of the best parts of having a self-hosted Wordpress website is having access to thousands of tools to make blogging easier. These tools are called plugins. You install the plugins on your website and then customize them to fit what you want. A lot of things you see on this blog are actually plugins I've installed. For instance, see that box at the beginning of this post? The one that Continue Reading
Things to Do in St. Louis
A lot of people make fun of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. It has the nickname Fort Lost in the Woods, because it's out in the middle of nowhere. People will often say there's nothing to do here, but I disagree. Travis and I have been so busy doing lots of fun activities every weekend. The biggest city in this state is a mere two hours away. We have spent some time in St. Louis, and probably aren't finished with this city. It's perfect for a weekend getaway! For anyone else planning a trip to St. Louis, I've compiled a list of things to do there! Our Favorite Things to Do in St. Continue Reading
Having a Natural Miscarriage
When I found out I was miscarrying our first child, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I didn't know what the pain would be like or how long I would bleed. I didn't know what to do. I was clueless about what a D&C is or what a natural miscarriage would be like. My experience was abnormal because we were right in the middle of a PCS (move) to another state. I went to three different hospitals, and at every appointment never saw the same doctor. It made it extra hard to understand what was going on or even what was going to happen. I felt like each doctor told me something Continue Reading
How to Start A Blog Part 2
After having several people ask me how I started my blog and how they can start their own, I decided to write a couple posts about how to start a blog. You can read Part 1 and my first six steps to starting a blog. Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty. If you know anything about blogging, you know you need a self-hosted Wordpress site to be taken seriously in the blogging world. Wordpress.org is one of the most common and probably the easiest to use websites. Wordpress wins, and if you want to be a winner then you need to hop on board. How to Start a Blog: The Next Steps 1. Get a Continue Reading
A Letter to My Fight Club
While Travis was stationed in Korea, I lived back in Indiana near family in a big, old farmhouse we bought. That house could get lonely. It saw a lot of tears. But one thing that got me through that year was my Bible study. There were five of us. Two girls who are my cousins but are a lot like sisters to me since we grew up together. One girl who married into the family and is now my official cousin. And one girl who is about to marry my brother and become family. Aubree. Morgan. Caitlyn. Kendall. and me. We started a Bible study at my house every week. To be honest with you, I can't Continue Reading
How to Start a Blog Part 1
In the past month, I've had several people ask me about blogging, how I got started, and how they can start a blog. So I've decided to write just a few posts for those of you out there interested in this. I started this blog in 2012 as a hobby. It was a way for me to therapeutically write after a hard break up with the guy who is now my husband. It started out with a lot of sad posts and a lot of rambling. My only readers were my mom and said ex-boyfriend/now husband who still loved me and couldn't stop reading. I'll say it -- it was a bit pathetic. Since then my website has grown a lot, Continue Reading
The Best Tool for PCS Season
PCS season is upon us. Before we know it, military families will begin moving all over the country and world. Where are you headed? Travis and I will be PCSing (that means moving for you civilians out there) in July, but we aren't announcing yet where we are going. We want to make sure it's official first. Although, is anything ever a for sure in the military? As soon as you find out your PCSing, everyone begins to research about the new area. We want to find the best house or apartment for our families. We have to decide whether to live on or off post. We want to know things about Continue Reading
Our Favorite Road Trip Snacks
Travis and I love traveling. When we lived in Georgia, we were exploring the area like crazy. Now, that we are here in Missouri, we love to explore too. We have a huge list of places we want to visit nearby and things we want to do in the next couple months. We've already took the two-hour trip to Branson, and soon we'll be heading to St. Louis. Our weekends are filling up quick! We love going on road trips together. I especially love it because it means uninterrupted quality time with my husband where he can't be distracted by TV or his cell phone. I love our deep discussions in the truck Continue Reading
