For Easter weekend, Travis and I decided to take a short trip to see Branson, Missouri. It's only a couple hours away, and we've heard lots of great things about this city. Today, I'm sharing what we did in Branson, as well as other things to do there. Our Favorite Things in Branson Extreme Racing There are several places to ride go-karts, but of course Travis wanted the fastest ones we could find. This led us to Extreme Racing, where you have to qualify before actually racing the fast cars. And these cars were fast! I was really impressed with the organization, staff, and safety Continue Reading
A Letter to My Brother Before His Wedding Day
My brother is getting married soon. In just one month and two weeks, he will be standing at the front of a church in a grey suit awaiting his beautiful bride. I couldn't be happier for him and his wedding day. He honestly chose such a wonderful woman to claim as his wife. I am going on three years of marriage. I've seen the ups and the downs. As my brother prepares for one of the biggest days of his life, I wanted to write him this letter. Before Your Wedding Day: A Letter to My Brother To my little brother, Logan, I am really surprised how quickly this special day of yours is approaching. Continue Reading
4 Best Restaurants Near Fort Stewart
Travis and I were stationed at Fort Stewart for two years. We are the type of people who can't just sit at home every weekend. We love to get out to explore the area. Being in the military means you know you won't be living in an area permanently. Knowing that, we try to make the most of each place where we are stationed. We loved visiting the surrounding areas of Fort Stewart -- islands, beaches, Savannah, and even going to Florida and South Carolina were all things we enjoyed during those two years in Georgia. Travis and I also consider ourselves foodies. We love eating. And we love trying Continue Reading
Boracay Video: Philippines Vacation
Over Thanksgiving last year, Travis and I traveled to the Philippines, visiting the island of Boracay. We only spent a few days there, but it was wonderful! We had such a fun and relaxing time. I wrote all about our trip in my post 3 Things to Do in Boracay, Philippines. Thanks to our GoPro, we had so many videos and photos we wanted to share. Now, that we are finally living together again and settled into our home in Missouri, we put all our footage from the GoPro onto my computer. It was really fun looking back over all the footage and remembering such a fun trip. I am planning to Continue Reading
When We Lost Our Baby … Twice
This post tells the story of my first pregnancy, as well as the first loss my husband and I have ever experienced together. I wrote this post as therapy for myself and to help others who have never experienced this type of loss to have a better understanding. I've also found that I find comfort in reading the stories of other women who have faced this awful nightmare, so perhaps this will remind someone else experiencing a miscarriage that they are not alone. Travis and I decided we wanted to start a family in September of 2014. We began trying to get pregnant in October 2014. When Continue Reading

3 Things to Do in Boracay, Philippines
During our time in South Korea, Travis and I wanted to take advantage of his time off of work for Thanksgiving. We had heard from lots of people that traveling to the Philippines was very cheap. We like cheap. And we love the beach. So we booked the tickets! Over the four day weekend, Travis and I traveled to Boracay, Philippines. We loved the island -- the gorgeous sunsets, the warm beaches, the cheap food, the friendly people, and the beautiful views. Yes, the Philippines has lots to offer. Since we only had three days to actually spend enjoying the island, we didn't want to waste any Continue Reading

Our 2015 Christmas Cards
Do you send Christmas cards? I remember growing up, my mom would always write a letter sharing about everything that happened for our family that year. She would send it out to all our friends and family. I couldn't wait to send out my own Christmas cards each year. Now that I'm an adult, I love creating Christmas cards for our loved ones. I wish I could send cards to EVERYONE. Of course, I couldn't afford postage if I sent one to each of my loyal readers. So instead, I send them out to my closest family and friends and then post them on my blog for everyone else. This year, we got all Continue Reading
The Quest for Cilantro
Not too long ago, I shared a recipe for enchilada soup. The first time we had this meal we topped it with cilantro and it was amazing! The cilantro added so much flavor to an already delicious soup. The second time I made it, we were out of cilantro. And that's when the quest for cilantro began. Travis went to the commissary but they were out. He went the next day, but they were still out. He asked a worker when they would be getting more cilantro. "We should be getting some tomorrow," the worker said. Travis went back the next day, but still no cilantro. He asked another Continue Reading
Things to Do in Busan
During my time visiting Travis in South Korea, we took a one day trip to Busan. Busan is the second biggest city in the country with a population of more than 3 million. We had a couple things we wanted to see, but for the most part we just played it by ear and enjoyed our day. Things to Do in Busan that We Recommend First, we went to Busan Tower. Remember when we went up in the 83 Tower in Daegu? Well, this was very similar except we could look out onto the city of Busan, complete with the ocean beyond. At the bottom of the tower, thousands up thousands of people have placed love Continue Reading
5 Things Every 20-Something Should Know About Retirement Savings
OK, I'll admit it. I don't like numbers or figures or math. I don't like anything to do with finances (except shopping for pretty things!). My husband, on the other hand, knows what's up. Travis is my financial role model. I love how smart he is in general, but especially when it comes to providing for us and saving for our future. He takes care of paying for all our bills, investing our money, saving for emergencies, and he's even thinking about retirement. Before I got married, I was pretty good at saving my money and budgeting. But to be honest, retirement was the last thing on my mind. I Continue Reading
