So my last three posts have been a bit ... heavy, I guess you could say. So I thought I might lighten it up a bit with this post. Living in Indiana definitely has its perks, but boy are there some things I miss about living in Georgia. 1. Living just down the road from a Kroger -- getting groceries was a breeze, and if you forgot something it was easy to run back later. 2. Seeing armadillos on the side of the road. OK, yes they were dead. But armadillos don't stink the way opossums do, and seeing armadillos was way neater to me than the roadkill here. 3. Knowing my husband was coming home Continue Reading
My Favorite Things to Do When Visiting Knoxville
I recently went to visit family in Knoxville, Tennessee. I've been there several times visiting. Even though I wish that family lived closer, I do love the Knoxville area. Whenever we go to visit, there's always so many things we want to do -- things we can't do back at home. Today, I'm sharing my favorite things to do when visiting Knoxville, as well as some other things you may want to check out if you visit. Get smoothies from the Juice Bar. This place is my all-time favorite. If there was one next to my house, I would have a smoothie every single day. I love that they are Continue Reading
Fourth of July Care Package
Every day is Independence Day in America. But we celebrate it on July 4th with barbecues, boating, homemade ice cream, fireworks, and a whole lot of red, white, and blue. As far as I can remember, Travis and I have only spent one or maybe two of these holidays together. Knowing we wouldn't be together this year, I wanted to send him something special for one of his favorite holidays. I put together a Fourth of July Care Package complete with everything red, white, and blue. Here's what was in his care package and other ideas for your own care package! I loved decorating this box Continue Reading
Tips for a Non-DITY PCS
If you are an avid reader of this blog, then you know we recently experienced our first non-DITY PCS. We were in Georgia, but had the Army move Travis' things to Korea and my things to Indiana. I was so nervous about how it would all go, but thankfully it went smoothly. We learned a lot in our first PCS, and I wanted to share those things with anyone else who may have just gotten orders. Today, I'm sharing tips for a non-DITY PCS over at Jo, My Gosh. Head over to her blog to see my PCS advice, and be sure to read some of her other posts as well. She has some great tips and resources for Continue Reading
Things to Do in Panama City Beach
Panama City Beach is one of my favorite places to vacation. I just finished my fourth trip there, and I know there are many more trips to come in my future. Travis' parents have been visiting PCB, Florida, for years and years. They couldn't even tell me how many years they've been there. It's become tradition for his family to get together there every year. With their help, I've made this list of things to do in Panama City Beach, as well as a list of great restaurants to try during your visit. Trying new restaurants is one my favorite parts of going on vacation! Things to Do in PCB Go Continue Reading
Florida Vacation 2015
Every year, Travis' family heads to Panama City Beach for a vacation full of sunshine, sunscreen, and sand. I am so grateful that I get to be a part of this tradition. Even this year, when Travis couldn't come, they still welcomed me into their family vacation. I spent two weeks in Florida. Getting a tan. Building sandcastles. Helping kids swim. Eating way too much food. Playing games. Beating records in paddle ball. Laughing. Going for walks. Playing video games. Crab hunting in the sand. Painting little toenails. Watching sunsets. Wearing sunscreen. Making memories. This is a Continue Reading
Places to Go & Things to Do in Indiana
As I've been traveling the past couple years, I've really enjoyed writing posts about my travels. One of my most popular posts has been Best Places to Visit in Savannah. Then I realized, why not write a post about all the awesome things that are right here in my own state? I've lived in Indiana for close to 24 years, so I've seen lots of areas and done lots of neat things. I asked my fellow Hoosiers to let me know what their favorite parts of Indiana are too. Together, we've got a great list of places to see and things to do when visiting Indiana. And if you live here like me, this list Continue Reading
Bucket List Recap 2015
Back in 2013, I wrote a post about my bucket list. I shared with you 15 things I wanted to do in my lifetime, and eight of them had already been crossed off. Today, I'm recapping. I'm sharing my bucket list again. But now, two years later more items have been added, as well as more items have been marked off! I tried to get as many photos as I could to go with the ones I've marked off. 1. Go to a Colts Game As a Christmas present in 2012, my aunt and uncle bought tickets to a Colts game for me, my brother and our three cousins. We all got to go together to see our favorite football team Continue Reading
Baseball Themed Care Package
Travis and I are celebrating our second wedding anniversary this month. Of course, we are celebrating while being 7,000 miles apart, which can make it a little tricky. This year, I wanted to put my care package skills to the test and create something awesome for Travis to open as an anniversary gift. My husband loves baseball. He's played the game since he was a kid, and he loves to watch it too. He's on a post-wide softball team in Korea, and I have no doubt that someday he will be a baseball coach for our own children. So a baseball themed care package was a perfect fit for my man. I Continue Reading

6 Things to Do in Oahu
Are you heading to Hawaii? Perhaps to the island of Oahu? Travis and I recently got to visit Hawaii, and it was awesome to say the least. The Army sent him there to take a class for a week, and I wasn't about to let him go without me! So we got me a plane ticket too, and off we went to a place I've always wanted to go! We had six days to do everything we wanted, and I was surprised that we fit everything into one week! During the day, I would go explore on my own while Travis was in class. I would pick him up in the evenings and we'd adventure out together. After our time in Oahu, I came Continue Reading
