Last week, the packers arrived at our house in Clarksville. They packed up all our belongings into boxes. The only things left were the items we had set aside in a bathroom marked "Do Not Pack." We slept in our house for the last time, and the next morning we loaded up the car. After a quick breakfast, Raylee and I walked through her first house for the last time. I prayed over each room. I thanked God for the memories there and prayed for the people who would soon move in and make it their home. Raylee and I loaded into the car, said goodbye to Travis, and pulled out for the last time. We Continue Reading
Purple and Grey Nursery
When we found out we were having a girl at our baseball-themed gender reveal party, I knew exactly how I wanted to decorate the nursery. I've never been a pink kind of girl. Purple has always been my favorite color, so I wanted to do a purple and grey nursery. I wanted to use all different shades of purple with lots of different patterns. Simple. Cute. Girly. We started by taking out all the furniture in my home office and painting the walls grey. It turns out grey is a hard color to find. The first coat looked blue and Travis repainted the whole thing until it finally looked grey. Then we Continue Reading

Quick Sugar Cookies
Travis' favorite kind of cookie is sugar cookies, and lately I've been on a any-kind-of-cookie kick. It seemed like the perfect time to make these quick sugar cookies. I got the recipe from my Aunt Traci, and they are seriously the best sugar cookies I've ever had. They really are easy to make, but best of all they are so soft. I love soft sugar cookies with not too much icing. Here's what you'll need: Flour Salt Baking soda Shortening Sugar Vanilla Eggs That's it. I imagine most of us have all of these things in our pantries already. That's one of the things that makes this Continue Reading

Are you a blogger? Or perhaps you want to be? Blogging is hard work. It can get discouraging real quick. Do you ever feel like no matter what you try, you can't seem to get more readers? Pros & Cons of Blue Apron
Travis and I have been seeing all sorts of commercials and ads for food subscription services. We both thought it would be fun to try, so when a friend of mine offered us some free meals to try out Blue Apron, we jumped on it! Blue Apron is a subscription service where they send you recipes and ingredients for meals you choose. You follow the recipes to cook the meals and then bon appetite! This is not a sponsored post. I just want to make sure you know that my opinions are completely honest (as always whether a sponsored post or not!) Travis and I tried three meals a week for three weeks. Continue Reading

Tennessee Home Tour
I had lots of comments when I posted my Missouri home tour and showed you all our house. Lots of family especially liked being able to take a tour if they couldn't visit. I decided I should do the same again in our latest house here in Tennessee. This is a picture-heavy post, but who doesn't like to look at pictures? Just keep in mind that I'm not a professional photographer and don't claim to be! The lighting isn't wonderful and it's hard to get an entire room in one shot! Let's start with the living room. We have two large closets, a small entry way, and a half bathroom all located in Continue Reading
The Day I Stopped Showering
This is a story I wrote a few years ago after this happened to me while showering. I wanted to repost it in case you need a laugh today! It was a normal day. I had decided to sleep in and very much enjoyed the luxury of it. I woke up and read my Bible, journaled, and ate a breakfast of cereal. I picked out my clothes for the day and headed to the bathroom to shower. I did the normal routine — I turned on the exhaust fan in the shower, let my hair down, placed my towels in the right spot and turned on the water. I decided not to listen to music because I had some thinking to do. I undressed Continue Reading
