This post contains affiliate links. Thanks for supporting my blog. The Christmas season is fully upon us! We have the house decorated, I've made Christmas cookies, and the Christmas cards are in the mail! Now, to just finish the Christmas shopping. This year we decorated our tree with even more ornaments than last year. Now, we have ornaments from our cruise, our Disney World vacation, our trip to Sea World, and the ones we got for Christmas last year. Our tree is looking a little more full, although we still used a few dollar store ornaments to finish it off. By next year, we probably Continue Reading

Christmas Wish List 2014
I am very excited for Christmas this year. Cookies, hot chocolate, twinkling lights, board games with family, shopping with my mom, and oh yeah -- presents! I love giving gifts and I love receiving gifts. And I ain't afraid to say so! As I've done with every season this year, I'm sharing with you my wish list. But this one is even better because some folks (aka my husband!) will actually be giving me some of these gifts. Thanks Christmas! (This post contains affiliate links. Saving Money = Sunshine
I don't know about you but I love shopping. My mom and I love shopping together. It's our thing. This blog is about seeing the sunshine -- seeing God's blessings and the positive things in life. And finding a great sale or saving money when buying something I love, that's sunshine. It's not as bright as spotting dolphins in the ocean, but it's sunshine nonetheless. Do you go shopping on Black Friday? Personally, it's a little too crazy out there for me. But for those of you who love a good deal and are ready to start your Christmas shopping, this post is for you. I thought I would share Continue Reading
Hospitality: From the Heart, Not the Home
In a previous post, I told you guys how much I desire to be hospitable and how I am striving to love others through hospitality. And in another post, I told you about one of the ways I tried to be hospitable and it didn't go at all how I had planned or imagined. Well, after that ice cream social, I was discouraged and the strive for hospitality kind of stopped. Then, like I told you before I went to Allume. And guess what the theme for the weekend was -- Hospitality. And then, I started a study plan from She Reads Truth and guess what their topic was -- Hospitality. I felt like God was Continue Reading
House to Home: Guest Bedroom
It has been SO LONG since I wrote a House to Home post. Too long. But we finally have another room completed! Our guest bedroom! Here is our game shelf. I love playing board games and wish we got to play them more often. Here's our book/storage shelf in the middle of the room. At the bottom of this post, I give you a sneak peek into what's in those storage bins. Yes, we have a Spongebob stuffed animal. It was a random silly gift from my dad. (family joke) Above that shelf, I have some wall art. I just used frames and scrapbook paper to make this Continue Reading
DIY Crate Nightstand
(This post contains affiliate links. Thanks for supporting my blog.) I've been waiting and waiting for us to finish our guest bedroom. Everything was done, except there was no nightstand. I didn't want to spend a lot of money for such a small piece of furniture that wouldn't be used all that often anyway. Finally, I decided just to make my own! I think it turned out great! Here's what I used: Two wooden crates (I got mine from Michael's, but you can also get some on Amazon) Wood stain A paintbrush Gorilla Glue First, I stained both crates with a dark Continue Reading

Honey Garlic Rolls
Prepare to drool. It has been years since I had these amazing yeast rolls made by my friend Sarah. Recently, I couldn't stop thinking of them so I dug around until I found the recipe she gave me, seriously, probably two years ago. Maybe three. I decided it was time to try to make them for myself. I was for sure they weren't going to turn out anything like Miss Sarah's. But to my delighted surprise, they turned out just as delicious as her's! These Honey Garlic Rolls are mouth watering, and I dare you not to eat three or more in one sitting. Actually, go ahead and eat as many as you want Continue Reading
