We have now lived in Louisville for about six weeks or so. For whatever reason, this has been feeling like our hardest move yet. Maybe it's because we are no longer in the military community or we have a toddler this time. We haven't put a lot of our decorations or pictures up because we want to paint first, and I think that's making it feel like it's not home quite yet. I was feeling down and discouraged about this, plus lonely since I don't really have any friends here yet. Then we found a leak in our basement. A leak that must have been there since we moved in and we hadn't noticed Continue Reading

The Book that Helped Me Heal After my Miscarriage
I sat there scrolling through Pinterest after searching "miscarriage." I wanted to see all the quotes, read the stories of others', and get any tips and advice I could. I had no idea how to get through and heal from such a painful time, such a deep loss, so I was grasping for anything and everything that could help. I came across a book on Pinterest, and I ordered it. I read that book during my first weeks of having a natural miscarriage. But you know what, it didn't really help. I didn't find it all that comforting or healing. It was a decent book, but I wouldn't recommend it to a Continue Reading
A Book of Letters and Family
(This post contains affiliate links. Thanks for supporting my blog!) Need a gift idea for a little someone? Perhaps a son or daughter or niece or nephew? Maybe a grandchild or godson? And the boys already have so many toys at home. So this year, I wanted to do something different. Both boys are 4 years old. They are learning their letters, and before we know it they will be able to start spelling and reading. This year, we decided to Continue Reading

Ways to Prepare for a Military Ball
I've only been an Army wife for five months now, so I'm still a complete newbie. I want to put that out there right from the start. I am in no way an expert. With that being said, I was excited to experience my first military ball last weekend. A chance to get all dolled up and be escorted by the best looking man that I'm most proud of in life? Yes, please. But before I could chat during cocktail hour, shake hands with the colonel, or eat up all my chicken, there were a few things I needed to do to prepare. This is a list I've compiled, but not everyone will want to do these things or find Continue Reading
Have You Been Seeing Sunshine? (Giveaway)
We did it friends! We finally hit 100! Thank you so much to everyone who helped share the page to get us up to 100 Facebook fans. Your support means more than you'll know. Because of your help, you are now a part of my ministry -- Seeing Sunshine. So what exactly does Seeing Sunshine mean anyway? Let me explain ... Seeing Sunshine has two main meanings. The first is that in our times of darkness — when we're stuck in a depression or just having a bad day — it's up to us to see the sunshine of each day. It's about being positive and focusing on the good parts of each day, no matter how Continue Reading
