I've been thinking for weeks about how to write this post and what I should say. I have very exciting news to share, but I want to do so with a cautious heart. Some will be thrilled with this news, but for others it could be very difficult. And for that reason, many tears have been shed as I type this post. Tears of gratitude, but also tears of sorrow for those who are longing for what I now have. The News Travis and I are going from a family of two to three. We are expecting. I wanted to be cautious and sensitive with this announcement because I know there are women out there who are Continue Reading
Things to Do in Panama City Beach
Panama City Beach is one of my favorite places to vacation. I just finished my fourth trip there, and I know there are many more trips to come in my future. Travis' parents have been visiting PCB, Florida, for years and years. They couldn't even tell me how many years they've been there. It's become tradition for his family to get together there every year. With their help, I've made this list of things to do in Panama City Beach, as well as a list of great restaurants to try during your visit. Trying new restaurants is one my favorite parts of going on vacation! Things to Do in PCB Go Continue Reading
Florida Vacation 2015
Every year, Travis' family heads to Panama City Beach for a vacation full of sunshine, sunscreen, and sand. I am so grateful that I get to be a part of this tradition. Even this year, when Travis couldn't come, they still welcomed me into their family vacation. I spent two weeks in Florida. Getting a tan. Building sandcastles. Helping kids swim. Eating way too much food. Playing games. Beating records in paddle ball. Laughing. Going for walks. Playing video games. Crab hunting in the sand. Painting little toenails. Watching sunsets. Wearing sunscreen. Making memories. This is a Continue Reading
Thankful Thursday 0821
I always have so much to be thankful for. Really, we all do. Even if you can think of nothing else, you can be thankful for God's love, mercy, and grace and salvation from Jesus Christ. Yep. Even on the worst of the worst of days there is still sunshine. Still reasons to be grateful. Here are five things I'm thankful for today: 1. For prayer warriors. The few nights I'm having to spend alone without Travis can be scary and lonely and just downright full of tears. But I have a few people (and maybe more than I realize) praying for me until his return. I know God hears those prayers as He Continue Reading
Stroud Vacation 2014
A week filled with some of my favorite things: Sand. Sea. Sun. And another of my favorite things: Family. After our anniversary, Travis and I headed to Panama City Beach to spend the week with his family enjoying all things summer. Here's a photo recap of our vacation. On our first night in PCB, we all went out to Boondocks. Here are all the ladies! Pretty gorgeous family, huh? Travis and I loved getting to spend some quality time with our niece and nephew. One day, some of us worked on building a huge sandcastle. It was fun! And afterward, we decided to bury Continue Reading
Our First Married Thanksgiving
Thursday was our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife. Even though we were both missing our family, we had a great day together. Let me share with ya'll about it (plus lots of photos!) We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade -- a tradition for both of us. I made my first Thanksgiving meal! I was a little nervous about it, but it actually turned out really well! I made a three pound turkey breast, mashed potatoes, noodles, green beans, and rolls. Unfortunately, the gravy didn't turn out for some reason. It was OK though because Travis didn't want gravy anyways, it was just for me. Continue Reading
