For the longest time, I have dreamed of giving my girls a rainbow playroom. The room we used for a playroom was painted purple when we bought the house. You'd think as a mom of girls, a purple playroom would be nice. However, the purple made the room pretty dark (the room is in the basement with no windows, so it's hard to get good lighting). The walls also were pretty scuffed up and needed a fresh coat of paint. So I decided to use the money I got for Christmas to tackle this playroom project I'd been dreaming of. I wanted to do a rainbow-inspired playroom for two reasons. First of all, it's Continue Reading
Things to Do in Seattle
Our last stop on our road trip up the west coast was to Seattle, Washington. I had never been to this state before, so I'm excited I got to mark it off my bucket list! Seattle was rainy, dreary, and cold just as we expected. But despite the weather, we really enjoyed our day in this city. Seattle Must-Sees Space Needle Our first stop was the Space Needle, of course. It's what Seattle is known for! We got combo tickets for the Space Needle and the glass museum so that we could get a discount since we knew we were going to both. We also recommend finding parking on the street or even a nearby Continue Reading
Things to Do in San Diego
Travis and I just got back from our west coast road trip, also known as our baby moon vacation. We flew into San Diego, rented a car, and drove all the way up the coast to Seattle. The trip was fantastic. We started in San Diego and spent two days visiting the sunny southern California area. Perhaps you are heading that way? Check out what we did during our short visit. I can't believe how much we fit in! Must Sees in San Diego Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial This historic landmark honors the veterans who have served our country. The giant redwood cross was erected in 1913 and it Continue Reading
A Game to Spice Up Your Marriage
As you may know, I'm a big believer in marriage. I think it's important to strengthen our marriages in any way we can. There are tons of ways to do that, but today I want to share one that is extra fun. This idea doesn't just strengthen your marriage, it is also a way to spice up your relationship. Yes, this post is all about spicing things up in the intimacy department. (Caution: To all family members reading this, you may not want to continue. Sorry Grandma, Grandpa, mother-in-law, etc.) I saw this idea on another blog while Travis was away in Korea, and I saved it to keep in mind for Continue Reading
Things to Do Near Fort Leonard Wood
Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri is often referred to as Fort Lost in the Woods because it seems to be out in the middle of nowhere. For people who are used to city life, this duty station can be a big change. It can definitely feel like there's not much around. But Travis and I both feel like every duty station is what you make of it. You can PCS and be totally depressed ... or you can have a good attitude and find new adventures -- even while lost in the woods! Travis and I have only been stationed at Fort Leonard Wood for five months, but we have already found a ton of fun things to do! Continue Reading
Things to Do in Springfield, MO
I love living near Springfield while here at Fort Leonard Wood. Springfield has everything I could want. Target, anyone? And my all-time favorite -- Hobby Lobby! There is a ton of shopping in Springfield, but there is also lots of other fun things to do there. Today, I'm sharing some of the fun things available to do in Springfield, Missouri. Things to Do in Springfield Wild Animal Safari We went to the Wild Animal Safari with some friends and had so much fun. We took the bus tour so that we could feed the animals. The bus driver was really great at making sure everyone got a Continue Reading
Things to Do in St. Louis
A lot of people make fun of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. It has the nickname Fort Lost in the Woods, because it's out in the middle of nowhere. People will often say there's nothing to do here, but I disagree. Travis and I have been so busy doing lots of fun activities every weekend. The biggest city in this state is a mere two hours away. We have spent some time in St. Louis, and probably aren't finished with this city. It's perfect for a weekend getaway! For anyone else planning a trip to St. Louis, I've compiled a list of things to do there! Our Favorite Things to Do in St. Continue Reading
Things to Do in Branson
For Easter weekend, Travis and I decided to take a short trip to see Branson, Missouri. It's only a couple hours away, and we've heard lots of great things about this city. Today, I'm sharing what we did in Branson, as well as other things to do there. Our Favorite Things in Branson Extreme Racing There are several places to ride go-karts, but of course Travis wanted the fastest ones we could find. This led us to Extreme Racing, where you have to qualify before actually racing the fast cars. And these cars were fast! I was really impressed with the organization, staff, and safety Continue Reading
Fun Things to Do in NYC
I recently spent a long weekend in New York City visiting two of my very best friends. I've come up with this list from the help of my friend who lives there of fun things to do in NYC. Many of these things are cheap or even free. Fun Things to Do in NYC Take the Staten Island ferry (for free) to see a great view of the Statue of Liberty, the Manhattan skyline, and the Brooklyn Bridge. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge. Take a stroll through Central Park. You can rent a row boat there too. See a Broadway play -- if you get there early and wait in line, you can get rush tickets usually Continue Reading
E-World in Daegu
Travis and I recently spent a day at an amusement park called E-World in Daegu. It was such a neat experience and we got so many fun photos that I wanted to share it with ya'll. This is a great activity for anyone stationed at Camp Walker, Camp Henry, or Camp Carroll. E-World is an amusement park that seemed to have a love theme. There were lots of heart decorations and signs that read, "Love Park," "Love Path", and "Romance." We went during their spring season so they had flowers everywhere! So many tulips! It was beautiful! The park has lots of rides and things to do -- roller Continue Reading
Bachelorette Party Ideas
I always meant to write a post sharing about my bachelorette party, but I just never got around to it for some reason. Now, eight months later I'm finally going to tell you all about it! My maid of honor Aubrey planned my bachelorette party, and I had a fantastic time. She decorated, made food, planned games, bought gifts, and even made something very special for me with the help of my friends. The best part about my party was it didn't include anyone getting drunk. I really wanted to celebrate my singleness in a clean, fun way. No bars, no clubs, no dirty decorations -- that's just not Continue Reading
September Visitors
Before September is over, I want to share with ya'll about the fun we had with our visitors this month. My brother and his girlfriend, along with my parents, came to see us! Logan and Kendall (that's my little bro and his woman) could only stay for the weekend because their college classes called. My parents, though, stayed for a whole week! This is a summary of our time with our visitors -- mostly in pictures -- if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen some of these. (I LOVE Instagram!) On our first day with everybody, we went to Tybee Island for some beach time. We packed a picnic Continue Reading
