I recently got home from a trip to Dallas Fort Worth, Texas. We had a great time, and one of my favorite parts of visiting a new area is trying new restaurants and great food. Are you visiting the Dallas Fort Worth area? Or perhaps you live there? Check out this list of great food in the Lone Star state. Here are my favorite restaurants from the Dallas Fort Worth area: Katy Trail Icehouse -- the food was amazing and the atmosphere was so enchanting. 30+ TV Series to Watch as a Couple
Living apart from your husband for a year can be hard, especially when there's a big time difference. We miss a lot of things about being together, but especially those little things. Things like watching TV together while cuddling on the couch. While Travis is on the other side of the world, we decided to start a new TV series together. We can both watch them on our own, but stay on the same pace with each other. That way we can talk about the episodes whenever we talk, or leave each other messages about the episode to see when we wake up. It's something we can do "together" while we're Continue Reading
I Know These People
One of my favorite parts of Allume was meeting new people and hearing about their blogs. It felt good to connect with others who get blogging and love Jesus. You know how when you meet a new friend and you really like her, you want to introduce her to the friends you already have? Or when you read a great book and you say, "Mom, you have to read this book; it's so good!" and you let her borrow it? Or when you hear a hilarious speaker at a blogging conference and wish all your friends could be there too so you could laugh together? That's what I'm feeling. I met some really awesome people at Continue Reading
Great and Mighty Things
Pray about it. Dream big. Then write it down. That's basically what the new book I'm reading said. The book is called Intentional Blogger, and the authors wanted me to make goals for my blog. I'll be honest with you ... I thoroughly read that chapter on setting goals twice. I skimmed over it another two times. I printed off the printables they included for the goal setting chapter. And I sat there and stared at them for quite some time. Writing out my goals for this blog was difficult for me. I went back and forth in my mind. I asked my husband for help. He said my goal should be for Continue Reading
White Chicken Chili
When my husband and I were dating, we talked about who would do which chores. We didn't want to have the wrong expectations and end up fighting during our marriage. One of the things we talked about was who would do the cooking. We agreed I would cook most meals for our family. But I didn't want to have to cook every single day for the rest of our lives. So we came up with "Daddy Dinner Night." One night a week, my husband does the cooking for our evening meal. Even though he's not a daddy yet, we still call it Daddy Dinner Night. Someday, he'll be a daddy and it will make sense. Our Daddy Continue Reading
