This chicken is pretty yummy, especially on top of noodles or rice. It really is both sweet and tangy, and the crushed red pepper adds a kick! Just look at that picture, doesn't it look so good? This is a crock pot meal, but there is a little bit of prep work before you can serve -- nothing too hard though. Here's what'll you need: Boneless, skinless chicken breasts Soy sauce Brown sugar Apple cider vinegar Garlic Sprite Crushed red pepper Pepper Cornstarch One of the great things about this recipe is you don't have to defrost the chicken. I don't know why I love Continue Reading

White Chicken Chili
When my husband and I were dating, we talked about who would do which chores. We didn't want to have the wrong expectations and end up fighting during our marriage. One of the things we talked about was who would do the cooking. We agreed I would cook most meals for our family. But I didn't want to have to cook every single day for the rest of our lives. So we came up with "Daddy Dinner Night." One night a week, my husband does the cooking for our evening meal. Even though he's not a daddy yet, we still call it Daddy Dinner Night. Someday, he'll be a daddy and it will make sense. Our Daddy Continue Reading
The Perfect Pot Roast
The first time I made this meal, Travis practically broke out in applause he loved it so much. And If I could do a back flip I would have in celebration of such an amazing success of a meal. I love roast beef. I love potatoes. ( I don't think there's a starch I don't like!) I love carrots. And this recipe puts all those things together, but it's not just your normal pot roast recipe. This one is SOOOOO flavorful! It's one of those meals that makes you want to eat slowly to savor each and every bite. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! So let's get on with it, shall we? Here's what Continue Reading
Crockpot Teriyaki Chicken
This is probably going to be the easiest recipe I'll ever write about. And it turns out really good. Travis said it was the best meal I've ever made. Granted, he says that every night after licking his plate clean. Luckily for me I don't have too picky of a husband. Anyways, for this recipe you'll need: Boneless, skinless chicken breasts (I used 5 so we could each eat 2 1/2) Pineapple juice Soy sauce Brown sugar Pasta Sides Teriyaki Noodles (optional) Now I'm going to let you in on a little secret of mine. I use Crock Pot Liners to make clean-up a breeze! Have I told you Continue Reading
Strawberry Pie
Strawberries have always been my favorite fruit and one of my favorite foods altogether. I recently said that blueberries were picking up speed in the race to be my favorite fruit, but that's beside the point. I love eating strawberries all by themselves, but they are also delicious in pie form! I recently made a strawberry pie when my parents came to visit for a couple days. For this recipe, you'll need a pie crust. I used a graham cracker crust because I like those better than the regular ones. You can use whichever you prefer, but if you use one made of dough, you'll need to bake it Continue Reading
Baked Grouper
I found a recipe through Pinterest from The Devil's Punchbowl. It was for a baked salmon and had very few ingredients. It looked really good, and I love salmon. While visiting Travis, we decided to try it. He had been deep sea fishing with his dad the week before and brought home tons of fish. We decided to try the recipe with grouper instead of salmon. We didn't think it would make much of a difference, but maybe it did. All we needed was the fish, salt and pepper, a lemon and butter. We sliced up the lemon and placed the slices on a piece of aluminum foil. We set the grouper on top. We Continue Reading
Black Bean Salad
This is one of my favorite recipes. I was so excited to make it for Travis while I visited him in Georgia. I think it's fairly easy to make — just a lot of chopping — and it has a delicious and fresh taste. We use tortilla chips and eat it like a dip or salsa. I think it's healthy too! Protein and veggies. Black Bean Salad Recipe Here's what you'll need: Red peppers Garlic Shallots Sugar Salt Cayenne Pepper Extra Virgin Olive Oil Limes White & Gold Corn Cilantro Black Beans Avocados You can prepare all your ingredients in any order because you are just Continue Reading
Hash Brown Casserole
Comfort food. That's what this recipe is all about. Travis loves cheesy potatoes, so he loves when I make this hash brown casserole. And so do I! I found this recipe on Nancy Creative. The problem was, and I have this problem with most recipes, it was a recipe for a whole family. A family of four or five people plus leftovers. Travis and I like to eat, definitely, but I really needed the recipe to be for just two. So I cut the recipe in half to fit our needs. And we still have leftovers! While I was editing these photos, I was getting so hungry. Just looking at it makes my mouth Continue Reading
