Travis and I were stationed at Fort Stewart for two years. We are the type of people who can't just sit at home every weekend. We love to get out to explore the area. Being in the military means you know you won't be living in an area permanently. Knowing that, we try to make the most of each place where we are stationed. We loved visiting the surrounding areas of Fort Stewart -- islands, beaches, Savannah, and even going to Florida and South Carolina were all things we enjoyed during those two years in Georgia. Travis and I also consider ourselves foodies. We love eating. And we love trying Continue Reading
13 Things I Miss About Living in Georgia
So my last three posts have been a bit ... heavy, I guess you could say. So I thought I might lighten it up a bit with this post. Living in Indiana definitely has its perks, but boy are there some things I miss about living in Georgia. 1. Living just down the road from a Kroger -- getting groceries was a breeze, and if you forgot something it was easy to run back later. 2. Seeing armadillos on the side of the road. October Visitors
We have had visitors almost every month we've lived here so far. July, September and now October have all brought my family to Georgia. It's been great! First, I love hosting guests. I like the cleaning and preparing and I enjoy showing them around our area. But most of all, I love it because I get to see my family! I love living here in Georgia, but I miss my family a lot. Having different folks come visit is a special treat that eases my homesickness and helps them see how great it is here. This month, my grandparents and mom came to visit. They stayed at our apartment for a few days and Continue Reading
September Visitors
Before September is over, I want to share with ya'll about the fun we had with our visitors this month. My brother and his girlfriend, along with my parents, came to see us! Logan and Kendall (that's my little bro and his woman) could only stay for the weekend because their college classes called. My parents, though, stayed for a whole week! This is a summary of our time with our visitors -- mostly in pictures -- if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen some of these. (I LOVE Instagram!) On our first day with everybody, we went to Tybee Island for some beach time. We packed a picnic Continue Reading
