It has been four months since I've posted a Thankful Thursday post! That's a long time, so I wanted to share with you five things I'm thankful for this week. 1. For Greg and my other furry friends. God has been surprising me with all sorts of love notes lately, and some of those love notes consist of his living creatures coming to visit. Now that I've settled into this old farm house, the animals in my yard have gotten used to me, which means I see them more and more. I now have a pet groundhog named Greg and two bunnies named Bonnie and Clyde. I love spotting them! 2. For walks and the Continue Reading

I haven't wrote a Thankful Thursday post since September! But just because I wasn't writing a post about it, doesn't mean I haven't been thankful. There have been tons of things to be thankful for. We have really been in a season of joy. Seasons change though. I do feel like we are transitioning into a new season. It doesn't mean we can't be joyful in this new season, but it's going to be different. I feel like it may be more challenging. That means it's even more important to see the sunshine, remember your blessings, write down what you are thankful for, and be grateful for the little Continue Reading

How's your week been so far? Are you struggling? Counting down the hours until the weekend? Just remember to look for the sunshine, count your blessings, and remind yourself all you have to be thankful for. That's what I'm doing today! Here are five things I'm thankful for this week. 1. For family and friendships that can handle distance and time. Last weekend I visited family that I haven't seen in years and I talked to some friends who hadn't talked to in months. Isn't it nice when you have those people that you don't need to talk to every single day or week to stay close to. The people Continue Reading

I always have so much to be thankful for. Really, we all do. Even if you can think of nothing else, you can be thankful for God's love, mercy, and grace and salvation from Jesus Christ. Yep. Even on the worst of the worst of days there is still sunshine. Still reasons to be grateful. Here are five things I'm thankful for today: 1. For prayer warriors. The few nights I'm having to spend alone without Travis can be scary and lonely and just downright full of tears. But I have a few people (and maybe more than I realize) praying for me until his return. I know God hears those prayers as He Continue Reading

Good morning friends! (or afternoon or evening - whenever you are reading this!) How has your week been? Stressful? Crazy? Overwhelming? If any of those are true, and even if they aren't ... we should be spending time in thankfulness -- being grateful for all our blessings. Have you been seeing the sunshine this week? It's all around. God leaves little love notes for us all the time. It's just a matter of opening our eyes (and our hearts) to see them. Here's what I'm thankful for this Thursday: 1. I am thankful for my possessions. I know - "What? She didn't say her family or God Continue Reading

Here are the top five things I'm thankful for this Thursday. 1. That my Travis is home from the field. I know it's only been a week, but I missed that guy. He's my best friend and I'm so happy to get to tell him all the little things again. 2. For Skype. I was able to chat with my cousin Bree for a few hours while I was home alone. It was such a nice break from talking to myself all day! I don't know that I could live so far from my family without all the technology we have today. 3. That God wants to hear our questions and concerns. I feel like I have been questioning a lot lately, Continue Reading
How Our Pain Can Help Us Hit a Deeper Level
We were friends in high school. We hung out a few times, mostly at youth group, but otherwise we were in different groups of friends at school. We were surface friends. Until one day, we confessed to each other the struggles we were facing with staying pure in our relationships. We became accountability partners. Through that struggle, our friendship hit a much deeper level. We had been friends since 2nd grade. We laughed a lot and talked about boys. We wrote notes in classes and had sleepovers. We were best friends, but we were surface friends. Until senior year of high school, when we sat Continue Reading
