This year has been one crazy thing (usually bad) after another, so when my grandparents offered to let us use their timeshare points for a little getaway we didn't have to think twice. We took them up on their offer and began checking out our options. We knew we wanted to go somewhere we've never been before. We love going to the beach, but since our trip was going to be in November, it seemed going to the north east coast might be a fun option -- think of all the fall leaves! That's what led us to choose Newport, Rhode Island. Today, I'm sharing all about our trip! Let me start by saying Continue Reading
Summer Road Trip Tips
As you read this, I'm sitting on a big beach towel looking out over the sand and waves with the sun soaking into my skin. Every year, Travis' family heads to Panama City Beach, Florida for the annual Stroud family vacation. The first year, Travis and I didn't have too long of a drive since we lived in Georgia. Last year, I came without Travis since he was in Korea. But this year, Travis and I took our longest road trip together -- around 900 miles of driving. We made it, and we have been enjoying time with family. But now, we are about to gear up for our next road trip to head back home. Continue Reading
Things to Do in St. Louis
A lot of people make fun of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. It has the nickname Fort Lost in the Woods, because it's out in the middle of nowhere. People will often say there's nothing to do here, but I disagree. Travis and I have been so busy doing lots of fun activities every weekend. The biggest city in this state is a mere two hours away. We have spent some time in St. Louis, and probably aren't finished with this city. It's perfect for a weekend getaway! For anyone else planning a trip to St. Louis, I've compiled a list of things to do there! Our Favorite Things to Do in St. Continue Reading
3 Things to Do in Boracay, Philippines
During our time in South Korea, Travis and I wanted to take advantage of his time off of work for Thanksgiving. We had heard from lots of people that traveling to the Philippines was very cheap. We like cheap. And we love the beach. So we booked the tickets! Over the four day weekend, Travis and I traveled to Boracay, Philippines. We loved the island -- the gorgeous sunsets, the warm beaches, the cheap food, the friendly people, and the beautiful views. Yes, the Philippines has lots to offer. Since we only had three days to actually spend enjoying the island, we didn't want to waste any Continue Reading
Florida Vacation 2015
Every year, Travis' family heads to Panama City Beach for a vacation full of sunshine, sunscreen, and sand. I am so grateful that I get to be a part of this tradition. Even this year, when Travis couldn't come, they still welcomed me into their family vacation. I spent two weeks in Florida. Getting a tan. Building sandcastles. Helping kids swim. Eating way too much food. Playing games. Beating records in paddle ball. Laughing. Going for walks. Playing video games. Crab hunting in the sand. Painting little toenails. Watching sunsets. Wearing sunscreen. Making memories. This is a Continue Reading
Seeing Sunshine on the Sunshine
I told you my husband and I were going "unplugged" for a week on my Facebook page. We unplugged because we were going to be out in the middle of the ocean. And we'd be too busy snorkeling, kissing dolphins, eating lobster tail and drinking coconut milk straight from the coconut. We went on a Western Caribbean cruise on-board the Carnival Sunshine. And it was awesome. And it was awesome that the ship just happened to be called Sunshine. Believe me, I was seeing all the sunshine during this vacation! The ship was huge, as I knew it would be. We stayed on Deck 8 in an inside cabin, Continue Reading
Currently {Vol. 8}
It's been about a month since I've wrote a Currently post, so I think it's time. Especially since you haven't heard from me in over a week. Remember how I said my husband and I were going "unplugged" and wouldn't be using our phones or internet for a week? Well, that was because we were going on a vacation! We weren't using the internet because we were out in the middle of the ocean on a cruise ship! I'll write a separate post recapping our trip soon! And just so you don't miss it, I have a giveaway coming Friday! So be sure to stop by and enter! (This post includes affiliate links. Continue Reading
Stroud Vacation 2014
A week filled with some of my favorite things: Sand. Sea. Sun. And another of my favorite things: Family. After our anniversary, Travis and I headed to Panama City Beach to spend the week with his family enjoying all things summer. Here's a photo recap of our vacation. On our first night in PCB, we all went out to Boondocks. Here are all the ladies! Pretty gorgeous family, huh? Travis and I loved getting to spend some quality time with our niece and nephew. One day, some of us worked on building a huge sandcastle. It was fun! And afterward, we decided to bury Continue Reading

October Visitors
We have had visitors almost every month we've lived here so far. July, September and now October have all brought my family to Georgia. It's been great! First, I love hosting guests. I like the cleaning and preparing and I enjoy showing them around our area. But most of all, I love it because I get to see my family! I love living here in Georgia, but I miss my family a lot. Having different folks come visit is a special treat that eases my homesickness and helps them see how great it is here. This month, my grandparents and mom came to visit. They stayed at our apartment for a few days and Continue Reading
